Water Taxi Transfer Service
This is certainly a stylish and luxurious way to make the journey between Marco Polo Airport or train station and the apartment. With the added advantage that the taxi stops three metres from the front door of the apartment. You cannot do that in many places in Venice!
You can expect to pay between €120 and €150 from the airport to the apartment and the journey will take around 30 to 35 minutes.
You can expect to pay between €80 and €100 from the station to the apartment and the journey will take you less than 5 minutes.
We would recommend booking through Truly Venice.
Alilaguna
The Alilaguna from the Airport is the less expensive option. Using the Linea Arancio (Orange Line) will take about an hour and thirteen minutes plus the 10 minute or so walk from Santa Maria del Giglio. The timetable for the Linea Arancio can be found on the Alilaguna web site.
To get to the apartment Santa Maria del Giglio:
If you are able to travel to Venice by train, this is a wonderful option. There are frequent trains from Milan and one service a day direct to and from Turin.
To get to the apartment you can take a water taxi at a cost of €70
Alternatively you can take the Vaporetto from/to the station to/from either S.Maria del Giglio or S. Angelo. Both stops are about the same distance from the apartment.
You can find the timetable at avm.avmspa.it
If driving and your route takes you via Modena, as it would if traveling from say Florence or Rome or from the South of France, we would recommend the Autogrill just North West of Modena. Certainly the best "service station" I have stopped at in continental Europe.

There are several car parks on the island of Venice itself and while these might be more expensive the water taxi to the apartment is less than from the airport at &euro80.00.
If you are visiting Venice for more than a day or two, it worth getting a vaporetto ticket for the duration of your stay. You can buy individual tickets by tapping in with your bank card. The ticket is then valid for 75 minutes and as many trips as you make in that time, regardless of length.
A weekly ticket is €65 and is well worth it.
Please note the vaporetto is different to the Alilaguna and the weekly pass does not cover the Alilaguna to the airport.
Tickets can be purchased online or at ticket offices located at Piazzale Roma, Ferrovia, Rialto, and San Marco. You can also buy them at tobacco shops (tabacchi), newsstands (edicole), or wherever the ACTV logo is displayed.
You buy online at veneziaunica.it/. It is not that intuitive. So I give instructions here:
